比較の表現は、
・Readingで良く間違えるので整理したい
・Speakingでも良く使うので実践で使えるレベルにしたい
１．「～倍」の表現
＜分かりづらい原因＞
・回数、倍数の表現が同じで分かりづらい
・いろいろな表現（two times, twice, double）があって分かりづらい
↓
＜解決策＞
・一緒に使われている文法で判断するとよい。
・いろいろ表現はあるが好みの問題
①回数表現
回数としてのTimesは、現在完了の表現と一緒に見かけることが多い。
I have been to OKinawa three times.
私は沖縄に3回行きました。
最後に置かれることが多い。
②倍数表現（比較の同列比較）
asの前で使われる。
He has three times as much money.
彼は3倍のお金を持っています。
③使い分けは、好みの問題
one time once
two times twice double
three times （thrice） triple
２．比較表現の練習
①形容詞の前に、何か単語を置くことで、形容詞のレベル具合を調整できる。
①She is beautiful.
②She is very beautiful.
③She is a bit beautiful..
④She is not beautiful.
②more, the most, asは、veryと同じように使える。
⑤She is more beautiful.
⑥She is the most beautiful.
⑦She is as beautiful. （比較対象が明確な場合は後ろにasが無くても使える。）
This book is as difficult.
This game is as enjoyable.
⑧She is less beautiful.
通常、上記だけでは足りず、
後ろに、修飾語句を必要とすることでvery, notとかと違う。
・more, less → than
・the most, the best → in 場所、of グループ（このグループの中で）
・as → as 比較対象
比較の文を作る時は、２分割して考える。
This book is more interesting than that book.
③レベル調整の仕方
as = 倍数表現 でレベル調整
This smartphone is four times as much as that one.
more, less ＝差額 でレベル調整
This building is one hundred meters higher than that.
単位に関する表現
This building is higher than that by one hundred meters.
数字を言うのを忘れた場合、後ろにつける
most, best＝ランキング、序列 でレベル調整
She is the third most beautiful in the world.
３．文法的に理解しづらい比較表現
①no later than Friday…遅くとも金曜日までに
金曜を超えないでね
noとnotの違い
no → 0
not → ×
until Friday → no later than Friday … noやlaterで重い印象。
読者に与える心的効果はある。
②no longer…もはや～ない
longer 長い → この延長線上で伸びていくことはない
過去はそうだったが、今はそうではない
I no longer talk to him.
・no longerは２語だが、don’t, can’tと同じ感覚でシャッフルできる感覚
・後ろにつける場合は、I don’t talk to him any longer.
③nothing more fascinating than ～…～が何よりも魅力的
～より美しいものはない
noは0
No peopleとか、日本語から考えると変なかんじがして使いづらい。
→慣れるしかない。慣れればSpeakingでも使える。
④at least…少なくとも
atは点のイメージ。物差しがあって指しているイメージ。
At best, it will be drizzling tomorrow.
良くても明日は小雨です。
at 最上級の表現
at most 最大でも、せいぜい much, many
at least 少なくとも little（, few）
at best 最高でも、せいぜい good
at worst 最悪でも bad
